Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. In her early years she was enrolled in the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to be an actor. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. When she was 10, she had already taken part in a variety of Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been picked for these characters. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. This film was 2001's highest production, and it broke records at the opening as well as the first weekend. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performance of the three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma was later awarded five prizes to honor her role in the film.
